Have friends and/or family abroad? If Verizon is your carrier, you may be able to gab away with those far-away loved ones as much as you want for $15 a month.
The carrier on Wednesday introduced a new international calling plan called Unlimited Together – World, which offers unlimited minutes to landline phones in more than 70 countries and mobile phones in almost 40 countries. The plan also offers discounted calling (as low as $0.05 per minute) to more than 160 countries worldwide. It's priced at $15 a month.
"Talking with family and friends abroad should not be limited by distance or a cut-rate network," Verizon's VP of marketing Rob Miller said in a statement. "With the introduction of Unlimited Together, it is easier and more affordable than ever for our customers to call their loved ones and talk as long as they want."
Meanwhile, Verizon already offers unlimited calling from the US to Mexico and Canada at no additional charge on plans 12GB and larger. Those on a lower plan can tack on unlimited calls to Mexico and Canada for $5 a month with Verizon's Unlimited Together – North America plan.

The new Unlimited Together – World plan offers "the best calling rates to Latin America and the Caribbean," Verizon says on its website. For more details about Verizon's international calling options, visit this page, where you can type in a country you want to call for rates and dialing instructions.
Verizon also offers a pay per minute option for those who only occasionally make international calls. That option starts at $0.49/min for calls to Canada and Mexico, and $0.20/min for calls to 230 other countries.
Earlier this week, AT&T announced an International Day Pass for those who prefer to travel to other countries rather than calling them. It allows travelers to talk, text, and surf the web for $10 per day while abroad.
