Did you notice old photos appearing on your Facebook timeline and News Feed this morning? Rest assured, you're not going nuts; a Facebook glitch appears to have resurfaced images that are months old.
"We are aware of this and are investigating," a Facebook spokesperson told PCMag.
I started receiving notifications that friends liked or commented on an image I knew had not been shared for at least two months. Assuming they were just catching up on old posts, I clicked through to find today's date and time, and none of the original reactions or comments.
In an attempt to quell the confusion, I deleted two of the three regenerated posts; I have not yet been able to scrub the final image, which notifies me that "Something's gone wrong. We're working to get it fixed as soon as possible."
I'm not the only one. "This morning at 6 [o'clock], four photos which I'd posted to my timeline back in September reappeared fresh on my timeline, complete with location and friend tags," one Facebook user wrote in a Facebook Help Community post.
"I did not do this," he added. "I' ve changed my password to be sure, but can someone please help me understand how this happened without my consent or knowledge?"
"Last night … a bunch of old pictures were reposted to my timeline just as if they were new posts," another user wrote online. "What should I do to stop reposting without my permission?"
On Twitter, users were similarly confused.

Facebook has had its share of fails this year. Amidst backlash over the spread of false news during the 2016 election, the social network last month accidentally made it appear that many of its members were dead.
