In the market for a pair of Apple AirPods? If you have some money to burn and a desire to stand out, we've got just the thing.

For a pretty decent markup, a company called ColorWare will paint a new pair of AirPods in any color you like and ship them to you in 10 to 12 weeks. Head over to the ColorWare website to browse the selection of solid and metallic colors available for your wireless headphones.

You can select from a gloss or matte finish, and opt to have the charging case painted in a color of your choice as well. If you like, you can even make each AirPod a different color. If you need some help picking out colors, click the "Inspire" button at the top for ideas.

Of course, expect to pay extra for this perk. A new pair of custom AirPods from ColorWare will set you back $289, which is quite a bit more than Apple's $159 price tag. ColorWare offers a standard 12-month warranty with your purchase offering protection against "workmanship defects and non-accidental hardware failures."

PCMag reviewed AirPods and gave them a "good" of rating of 3.5/5 stars. We liked their clear audio performance and the fact that they pair with multiple iOS devices on the same iCloud case, but noted that the "lack of ear canal seal means less bass response and potential ear-to-ear stereo image discrepancies." Overall, we said AirPods "feel like a big step for wireless in-ear audio—but it's more about innovations and features and less about audio performance."

One of the main concerns about AirPods is that they're tiny and easily lost. That should be less of an issue with iOS 10.3, which is now in beta. The update includes a feature that will help you locate a missing AirPod with Find My iPhone on an iOS device or via iCloud.

If you lose (or damage) an earpiece, it'll cost you $69 to replace it. It doesn't look like ColorWare offers single replacements, so if you need one you'll be stuck with the plain white version Apple offers.
