7 Ways To Get Around In The Future, Or Maybe Now

There are so many things changing in the world because of technology that it is sometimes hard to keep up and hard to appreciate the changes. Transportation has seen many changes, but the future is a dream. Here is the top 7 future transportation types that you are likely to see in the next few years, and some even now.

1. Bullet Train

A simple high-speed train. Most of them hit a speed of 200 miles per hour. They are out there now. The drawbacks are much like any other public transportation methods. A person will need to use terminals to catch a train. Many cities already have a decent amount of high-tech bullet trains, but not the required infrastructure around them.

2. Self-driven Cars

Google's car that takes photos is self-driven in most areas. Laws are being passed in various states as to how these can be used, but they are out there and working just fine. Minor issues are present, but nothing of that is a major safety issue. GPS, collision avoidance, and a few other things are all there. Yes, it's an extra hour of rest or even a piece for getting more business done.

3. The Folding Bike

It is quite a simple system that turns a regular bicycle into a truly portable design. Everyone has seen the person walking into a business building or apartment carrying a single bike tire. This is their way of keeping the bike from getting stolen. Not need anymore. How to choose a folding bike? Simple. Read some reviews and look at your needs, the space needed to store it and the distance you have to cover each day. Some fold into larger spaces and have more features. While others are designed to be stored in ridiculously small cases and may have fewer bike features.

4. The Pods

These are a little further off than the others, mainly because they depend on some of the others. Basically, these would be a publicly used combination of the smart car and the self-driving car. A small, efficient autonomous vehicle that can be called to pick a person up via an app or phone call.

5. Hyperloop Trains

A current high-speed train travels above ground and uses magnets to hover just above a raised track. A hyperloop is a closed tube that uses a vacuum to reduce drag and friction. The vacuum also moves the train in concept. These would travel at near 900 miles per hour versus the 400 of the magnetic train.

6. Out of This World

These last two are the lists within the list. Number six is a list of the truly outrageous and very possible methods to move people that you might see in the next 25 years. These are very cool and you never know what is possible. There is a talk of using underground wires to move a train like an object via electricity. There has been much of a talk about space elevators and a train that can leave the atmosphere. These are the concepts with some potential in the future because it can be shorter in some cases to go up at a steep angle and back down at a slightly different angle than going around the sphere of the planet.

7. ?

The last list within the list is not the vehicle being travelled in as much as the mode of power. Cars these days are being powered by such things as used cooking oil, electricity, manure, hydrogen gas, oxygen, and of course standard fossil fuels. These are just to name a few. Combining two sources such as electricity and fossil fuels creates hybrids that hit impressive mileage per gallon and still can get up and go. The future promises things like electricity, but powered from the road itself.
