Hoping to hatch Togepi or Pichu, Pokémon Go trainers? Be sure to play on Christmas and the days that follow.

The Pokémon Go team on Friday announced a holiday event offering increased chances to hatch Pokémon. The fun kicks off the morning of Dec. 25 and runs through the New Year, ending the afternoon of Jan. 3. During that time, "PokéStops will award one single-use Incubator each day after your first Photo Disc spin," the team wrote.

"As you visit PokéStops during this time period, there will be a greater chance of finding Eggs that hatch Togepi, Pichu, and several other recently found Pokémon, originally discovered in the Johto region," they added.

If that's not incentive enough to get you playing more, take note: "Special Pikachu wearing festive hats will also be staying around a bit longer! You are more likely to find these limited-edition Pikachu during the time period of this celebration." The so-called "Santachu" first appeared earlier this month and was slated to stick around through Dec. 29, so if you haven't found one yet, there's more time.

Meanwhile, the Pokémon Go team also announced that players are more likely to encounter the first partner Pokémon and their Evolutions from the afternoon of Dec. 30 through Jan. 8.

"This means a greater chance to catch Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur, as well as Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard, plus Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise!" the team wrote. "As a way to increase your chance to encounter one of these Pokémon, Lure Modules will also last for 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes."

In other Pokémon Go news, the game this week launched on Apple Watch, so if you own Cupertino's wearable you can now hunt and hatch from your wrist.
