Nikon isn't bringing anything new to CES—at least not brand new. The D5600 SLR, a modest update to the D5500, went on sale in other regions late last year, but now it's coming to the US.

The D5600 shares most of its specifications with its predecessor. It uses the same 24MP image sensor, the same autofocus system, and captures 1080p video at the same quality. But it does add Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless remote control and file transfer to an Android or iOS device via the Nikon Snapbridge app. And it adds a time-lapse movie capture mode.

It goes on sale this month for $699.95 as a body only for for $799.95 with the AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens.

Other kits include a dual-lens kit with the aforementioned 18-55mm and the AF-P DX Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED for $1,149.95, or a single-lens kit with the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR for $1,199.95.

The new-to-the-US compacts are the Coolpix A300 and W100. The A300 is a pocket-friendly budget model with an 8x zoom lens, 20MP image sensor, and wireless connectivity—for just $139.95.

The W100 is a tough, kid-friendly compact that sports a 13MP sensor, a 3x zoom lens, and 1080p video capture. It is waterproof, shockproof, and freezeproof, and also sports wireless Snapbridge connectivity. It's priced at $159.95.

Many photographers have been waiting for CES to hear if Nikon's DL series, a planned line of premium compact cameras that were initially set to go on sale in 2016, would be getting an on-sale date. Unfortunately, there's no word on that at this time. Nikon identified an issue with the DL circuitry during the design process, which has delayed their on-sale date.
