Netflix has undeniably established itself as one of the most successful technological companies in the world. The company has managed to make a big profit by allowing consumers to stream the latest television shows and movies for a monthly fee. The company has had a few setbacks, when attempting to breakout in foreign markets. Nonetheless, they have proven to be a dominant force in the United States. Much of this has to do with the company's willingness to provide consumers with exactly what they desire. After fans of the Gilmore Girls complained about the show's quick ending, Netflix decided to step in and reboot the series.

And of course, the company has strived to keep up to date with the latest technology. This is immensely important and will help to ensure that the company is able to remain ahead of the competition. Just recently, it was announced that Netflix was ready for 4K streaming. However, according to 4k.com, not everyone will be able to experience the technology right away. 4k.com, which is the leading retailer of 4k televisions, has seen a major influx in consumers as of late and it is believed to be directly connected to Netflix's addition of 4k streaming.

At this point in time, Mac users will be left out of the fold. There are a few hardware and software requirements, which must be met before 4K streaming will become a possibility. The first is that the user must switch over to the new Microsoft Edge browser. While this browser is pre-installed on all new Windows computer, many consumers prefer alternatives. At the same time, consumers will need to make sure their Windows 10 operating system is updated to the newest level. As mentioned above, this puts 4K streaming out of reach for Mac users and Linux users.

And of course, there is an even bigger catch. In order to enjoy the new technology, consumers will need to have a very powerful computer. Only those that have a computer with the 7th generation Kaby Lake processor from Intel will be able to experience it for themselves. According to sources, these requirements have been put in place to protect Hollywood and various TV networks and to address their DRM concerns.

Nonetheless, there are other ways to watch 4K Netflix without needing to have an enormously expensive computer. Netflix's 4k Streaming has actually been available since 2014, but it has only recently landed on computers. So, consumers can still enjoy the technology through other means. There are certainly television boxes, such as the Roku and Amazon Fire TV, which are compatible with the technology. The Chromecast Ultra is also capable of streaming content in 4K resolution. While it has finally made its way to the personal computer, it is highly unlikely that everyone will be able to enjoy the enhanced visuals.

Nonetheless, it is simply only a matter of time before more and more consumers are able to enjoy Ultra HD video. As the technology becomes cheaper and more readily available, it is highly likely it will explode in popularity. And before you know it, 4K will truly be the norm.
