Donate to Charity Via Apple Pay

Giving is getting a lot easier, now that Apple Pay supports instant donations to nonprofits.

The feature launched this week with support for nonprofits like the American Red Cross, charity: water, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, UNICEF, and more. Check out the full list below.

donate-to-charity-via-apple-pay photo 2Apple Pay gives supporters of these charities an easy way to donate, eliminating the need to enter billing contact information, create an account, or fill out long forms.

"Technology is constantly evolving and as a donor-centric organization, we strive to provide our supporters with innovative and secure ways to financially support our mission," Richard Shadyac Jr., president and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, said in a statement. "Apple Pay will introduce our mission to potential new donors and provide an additional method for supporters to make their donations."

Nineteen nonprofits are already taking advantage of this new feature to accept donations, including:

  • American Red Cross
  • American Heart Association
  • charity: water
  • Children's Miracle Network Hospitals
  • COPD Foundation
  • Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA)
  • Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
  • Feeding America
  • GlobalGiving
  • International Rescue Committee
  • (RED)
  • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
  • Save the Children
  • The Nature Conservancy
  • The Water Project
  • UNICEF
  • WNET
  • World Vision
  • WWF (World Wildlife Fund)

Several others will soon offer Apple Pay support, including:

  • American Cancer Society
  • CARE
  • DonorsChoose.org
  • PBS and its local stations
  • United Way

Apple Pay Vice President Jennifer Bailey said this new feature makes it "incredibly easy" to give.

"Websites and apps tell us they see twice as many people actually completing a purchase with Apple Pay than with other payment methods," she said. "We think offering such a simple and secure way to support the incredible work nonprofits do will have a significant impact on the communities they serve."
