official-dropbox-app-for-windows-8-is-now-available photo 1The wait is finally over for those of you who have been patiently waiting for Dropbox to release their official Windows 8 app. Install the app and moments later you can start enjoying easy access to your online files directly from the Start Screen.

Here is a quick run-down on the app…

From the App Homepage: With the Dropbox app for Windows 8, you can easily browse all your files, view your pictures, and watch your videos with a tap!

Features

  • Browse and preview all of your files and photos on Dropbox
  • Open, edit and save files from other Windows 8 apps
  • Share any photo, file or folder with the Share Charm
  • Find your files with the Search Charm

You can install the Dropbox App by conducting a search in the Windows App Store or by visiting the homepage (link is listed below).

Entering your login credentials works just the same as visiting the website when you open the app the first time…

As you can see the interface has a minimalist look overall. All folders are shown listed down the left side of the app while folder contents will be displayed on the right.

Keep in mind that this first iteration of the Dropbox App is still limited in the amount of features and capabilities available at the moment.

If you are looking for the full set of features and capabilities, then you may want to stay with the regular desktop app for now (or use both in conjunction).
