Make the Language Bar Go Away

One of my hugest pet peeves is the Language bar.

I have no idea why it bugs me so much, probably because I like to keep non essential programs from showing themselves.  The purpose of the language bar is for using handwriting recognition, speech recognition, and Input Method Editor (IME) applications for entering text.  Why this comes up by default after an installation of Office 2003  is beyond me.  So, here is how to get rid of it.

Right click directly on the bar and choose Settings…

Under Preferences click the Language Bar…

Uncheck the box next to Show the Language bar on the desktop.  Now Click OK.

That’s it!  You will never see it again.
