Geek’s Spam Filter – Updated to Version 0.3

I’ve released another small update to the Geek’s Spam Filter, the WordPress plugin that saves me time every day by deleting the most obvious spam before it goes into the Akismet queue. I used to have to filter through many hundreds of spam comments every day, and now it’s a maximum of 10-20 that get through on a daily basis.

Changelog

  • Changed logic to concat the fields together to reduce processing time
  • Added a number of extra keywords to the list to block more recent spam.

The keyword list is starting to get large, so the next version is going to probably switch to a regex array.
