It seems that the hottest toy of the season has a bit of a potty mouth.
As CNN reports, some parents are claiming that their kids' Hatchimals curse in their sleep. At least three YouTube videos now show the toy pets saying what sounds eerily similar to "f*** me" in their sleep. No, we are not making this up.
Others claim the furry animals are simply saying "hug me." Check out the YouTube videos below to decide for yourself, but be sure to check who else can hear before pressing play (or wear headphones).
We've reached out to Hatchimals maker Spin Masters about the issue, but have yet to hear back.
For the uninitiated, Hatchimals are interactive, "magical creatures" that start as an egg, which kids must hold, pet, tap, turn upside down, and play with. It responds with lights and sounds, and after a while begins to crack open, revealing the furry creature inside. It was, perhaps, the most sought after toy of the holiday shopping season, selling out in stores and posted for sale online for several times its normal $50 to $60 price.
But some people have found that the toy isn't all it's cracked up to be. In a note on its website, Spin Master acknowledged that customers have "experienced challenges with their Hatchimals" and had problems reaching the company's Customer Care team over the past few days.
"We are 100 percent committed to bringing the magic of Hatchimals to everyone and addressing consumer concerns," the company wrote. "As a result, in the last 48 hours we have more than doubled our Customer Care team to assist with calls and emails, we have extended our hours." Spin Master said it aims to answer all customer emails within 72 hours; if it can't find a solution through troubleshooting, the company will send a replacement Hatchimal within 2 days.
