Watch what you say on dating apps, because exposure and public shaming is just a screenshot away.

Take it from Nick Vedovi. The 24-year-old San Franciscan was just publicly banned from Tinder for life for sending racist and sexist messages to a match.

Vedovi, who seems very happy with the fact that he's 6'2'', matched with a woman on Tinder and asked her out for a drink. When she didn't respond right away, he went berserk, lobbing a series of racist and sexist insults her way.

"Next time don't give out your number dumb c**t," he wrote, adding a middle-finger emoji for emphasis.

We won't repeat everything Vedovi said, but screenshots of the conversation are available on Facebook, so you can see exactly what went down right here. Since the messages were posted to Facebook, several other women have come forward saying they had similar encounters with Vedovi.

After catching wind of the controversy, Tinder used it as an opportunity to make an example out of him.

"Hey Nick (and anyone who behaves like you)," Tinder's Vice President of Communications and Brand Rosette Pambakian wrote in an open letter to Vedovi. "We're swiping you off the island."

Pambakian went on to say that Vedovi's messages personally offended her.

"Your words to that woman were an assault, not only on her, but on all of us," she wrote. "Every day, we work to rid our ecosystem of bad actors like you. Why anyone would choose to go out into the world and spread hate I will never understand, but you do not have that choice on Tinder. Hate is not an option and we will continue to fight it wherever it rears its ugly head."

She said Tinder has a "zero-tolerance policy on disrespect," meaning "no racist rants. No sexist pigs. No trolling. No jerks who can't get over their own inadequacies long enough to have a decent conversation with another person on Tinder."
