Trying to meet up with friends for a night out but not sure where they are? You could text or call and have them walk you through how to get there with loud bar noise in the background, but Facebook has an easier way.
Have your friend open the Facebook Messenger app and send you their Live Location. This new feature, currently rolling out globally to Messenger on iOS and Android, lets people share their real-time location with friends and family for a period of time.
"We've been testing this for a little while, and people tell us that Live Location is helpful when trying to coordinate with friends, telling people how close you are when you're on your way to an appointment, or even sharing where you are with your roommate when you're on your way home at night," Facebook Messenger Product Manager Selena Wang wrote in a blog post.

You can share your Live Location with a group of friends at once, or just one person. Once you share your Live Location, the person or people you shared it with will be able to see where you are on a map for the next 60 minutes.
To try it out, tap the Location icon inside a message, or tap the More icon, then select Location. You'll see a map of your current location and the option to share your whereabouts. A small clock in the lower right corner of the map will show you how much longer you're sharing your location for. To stop sharing your Live Location at any time, just tap Stop Sharing.
