Nintendo Switch Games Line-Up Quadruples

One of the more disappointing aspects of the Nintendo Switch launch reveal last month was a lack of games for the system. In total, 26 titles were confirmed as heading to the Switch with release dates spread out across the rest of 2017 and beyond. The pick of the launch titles is Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but beyond that there isn't much to get excited about.

Well, it's been almost a month since that list appeared, but anyone who is on the fence about buying Switch need not fear. The list of games coming to the system has more than quadrupled.

Gaming website PressStart posted an updated list of titles confirmed for the Switch and it increases the original 26 up to 106. That's quite the increase, and the good news extends to those gamers pre-ordering Switch for a launch day purchase.

Here's the game list from January:

Originally, only five games were confirmed for launch (Zelda, Super Bomberman, Just Dance 2017, 1-2 Switch, and Skylanders Imaginators). You'll be happy to hear that total has doubled, with I am Setsuno, World of Goo, Little Inferno, Human Resource Machine, and The Binding of Isaac being added. It's a shame there aren't more brand new games, but at least there's more choice at launch.

It's difficult to predict how well consumers will receive the Switch. Nintendo is attempting to cater to both mobile and console gamers with one device. It could turn out to be a very clever move with success on the scale of the Wii. But it could just as easily be overlooked as a platform that does neither mobile or big screen gaming well enough to grow a user base.

As is usually the case, how successful a platform is comes down to the games released both from Nintendo and third-parties. With less than a month to go until launch, things are looking positive.
