HP refreshed four of its high-end notebooks and convertibles on Monday, including a resurrection of the Envy 13 notebook that originally made its debut back in 2009 at the dawn of the Envy lineup.

The new models also include a larger 17.3-inch Envy 17 laptop to complement the Envy 13, the Envy x360 15-inch convertible, and the refreshed Spectre x2 slate tablet with a detachable keyboard. While these are all premium computers with pricey option sheets, their starting prices hover right around the $1,000 mark: the Spectre x2 begins at $999.99, the Envy x360 is $899.99, the Envy 13 starts at $1,049, and the Envy 17 begins at $999.99.

If you like the Spectre x360 tablet but want a slightly smaller screen and don't mind giving up the ability to configure it with a 4K display, you'll want to check out the new 12.3-inch Spectre x2. It can now be ordered with a seventh-generation Core i7, as well as 8GB of RAM and room for two 360GB NVMe M.2 SSDs (the base model includes just one SSD).

Tablet features include a multi-touch 3000x2000 display, a kickstand, a detachable keyboard and a Windows Ink-certified pen. HP says its battery will last up to eight hours of mixed usage, and can be recharged from empty to 50 percent in 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, the Envy 13 and Envy 17 are conventional ultrabooks. Well, at least the Envy 13 is an ultrabook; the Envy 17 is more of a desktop replacement thanks to its large display. Each has a UHD touchscreen and can be configured with seventh-generation Core i3, i5, or i7 processors, as well as dedicated Nvidia graphics cards.

Finally, the 15.6-inch Envy x360 is a convertible notebook that can be ordered with either a Full HD or a 4K multi-touch display, as well as Core i-series or AMD processors and dedicated Nvidia graphics. In addition to using it in conventional laptop mode, you can flip over the keyboard to use it as a tablet, set it up in tent mode, or use the keyboard as a stand to watch movies on an airplane tray table. HP says the battery will last more than eight hours when used to watch videos.

All of the new models will be available starting next month at HP.com.
