Need an alibi? Google can help.
The Web giant back in 2015 introduced a feature for Android and desktop users called Your Timeline that tracks and records all the places you've been, and now the feature is launching for iOS users as well.
"What was the name of that antique store I popped into the other day? Where was that coffee shop we discovered on our last vacation? Did I drop off the dry cleaning on Tuesday or Wednesday? Answering questions like these used to take some guesswork (and a great memory)," Google Maps Product Manager Gerard Sanz wrote in a blog post. With Your Timeline, it will be a lot easier. The feature offers a "daily snapshot" of the things you've done and the places you've been on a given day, month, or year.
Besides launching it on iOS, Google made a few updates to the tool and said it should now be easier to control the information that appears in Your Timeline. You can edit any location, delete your history for a day or longer, or wipe your entire history at any time. You can also now customize your modes of transportation and activities to specify that you were surfing, boating, hiking, cycling, snowshoeing, or horseback riding, for instance.
The feature can also jog your memory about the last time you visited specific destinations.

"So if you went to Point Reyes National Seashore a few days ago, the dates of your past visits will appear on the place card (only visible to you)," Sanz explained. "From there you can tap directly into Your Timeline to get the dates and details of your visits and rediscover the experience."
Finally, you can now receive monthly emails summarizing the cities, countries, and places you've visited. To manage this option, just open the settings tab from Your Timeline and toggle "Timeline emails" on or off.
