Evernote today released a new version of its iOS app that focuses on speed and ease of use.

"Capture your thoughts with ease, and find what you're looking for faster than ever," Evernote wrote in its Version 8.0 release notes. "Bring beauty and clarity to your notes with an improved editing experience."

In a blog post, Evernote said it has "improved the [app's] overall navigation structure" to help you access your notes faster than ever. They did away with the home screen, so you'll now have immediate access to your most recently updated notes. This way you can keep working where you left off with no extra taps.

The app also offers two new search features aimed at those who use tags and reminders for organization. Just tap the alarm clock at the top of any note to bring up all the notes set up with reminders. Or, tap the tag button at the top of a note list to filter for specific tags.

Creating a new note now requires just one tap. Just open Evernote, press the green plus sign, and start typing. Or, long press the same button to record audio, capture an image, or create a reminder. You can also now jazz up your notes with different colors and text sizes to create headers, sub headers, or highlight specific text.

Meanwhile, the app now offers a better separation of your personal and business notes. "This way, you won't accidentally save a cake recipe to your company's marketing team notebook and your company meeting notes won't appear in your family's shared travel planning notebook," Evernote wrote. To switch between your personal and business accounts just long-press "Account" on the tab bar.

"We think that once you've set eyes on the new Evernote 8.0 app, you'll agree with many of those in our Beta community who say it's the best version of the Evernote iOS app ever," the team wrote. For a peek at the redesign, check out the video below.
