Although many people do not realize it, technology and just about everything go hand in hand nowadays. This is especially true in the medical field. 2016 was a great year in the medical field, primarily fueled by tech Innovations. Here are four that were particularly impressive, and will have particularly drastic results.

Virtual reality
Virtual reality is fast becoming one of the biggest trends in tech. Many people do not realize how many different categories will be changed for the better once virtual reality becomes mainstream. In the medical field, there are significant benefits to virtual reality. Imagine having surgery and knowing that it was the doctor's first time giving that surgery. That will never be the case again with virtual reality. Doctors will have realistic experience in doing all kinds of surgeries and examinations, but all in virtual reality.

Fibertronics
Many people have never heard of fibertronics. What they are, is a clothing material with microchips built into them. They can monitor everything about your body including body temperature mood and more. 2016 saw the first real results from this type of technology. 2017 is expected to get even better.

Artificially intelligent radiologists
For those that don't know, a radiologist is the person that looks at your X-rays and charts and graphs and essentially diagnosis you based on the information that they see. They are extremely expensive and require quite a bit of schooling. 2016 saw advancements in artificially intelligent radiologist. This will significantly decrease the cost of radiology and all healthcare. Imagine if all doctors could be artificially intelligent. You would no longer need to pay an expensive doctor to tell you what was wrong with your body. You could have a machine do everything, saving significant amounts of money.

Mobile stroke units
Most people have never heard of mobile stroke unit. That is because they are primarily used on ambulances. Ambulances often can do a few tests on the way to the hospital, but the hospital does all the real test on victims. With mobile stroke unit, ambulances will now be able to perform all necessary tests straight from the ambulance on the way to the hospital so that the patient is prepped and ready for whatever surgeries or emergency procedures are necessary.

Iontophoresis
This is essentially a medical procedure where extremely mild electrical currents passed through water and into your skin. They are usually for sweating, but they are now being used to treat sports injuries and to help deliver medications directly to the skin. 2016 was a breakthrough year for this technology, and it is expected to continue to grow as it requires no intrusion on the body.
