The truth is that the whole transformation is not necessarily challenging as you may think. In fact, thanks to the web applications, it is a pretty straightforward process. A web browser is one of them, in which you will most likely spend the majority of your time. It works perfectly on Mac, even with the extensions. Once you install it, you will often forget that you are actually working on Mac OS X.

Minor differences and old habits
Of course, there are some differences. The lack of the right click is solved in a funny, simple, and elegant way. So, the touchpad on MacBook can recognize several touches at the same time. Just use your fingers to perform a particular operation.

Another problem is the keyboard. In a nutshell, it is very different from the one in Windows. Even though you can easily solve it by setting up the shortcuts or installing the programs that allow defining the personalized buttons layout, you simply need to get used to it.

Furthermore, the common problem that you can face is connecting Mac to Windows Vista. Sometimes it is really hard to make it work properly because of the differences in the file systems. Mac OS X is using HFS, and it can not write to NTFS, at least without special software. It will be much less painful if you completely switch to Mac, then try to combine it with Windows.

The advantages over Windows
You will often hear that Mac is much easier to work with. In some ways, it is true. Software installation and uninstallation is most cases does not exist. You simply drag the program wherever you want, and for uninstallation, just throw it in a recycle bin. System settings are easier to handle than in Windows where the control panel is sometimes a nightmare with a load of overlapping options.

If you are an advanced user, all of this will not bother you too much because of the important fact that OS X is based on Unix which makes it pretty robust and stable. Unlike Windows, freezing the screen in Mac will be a rare occurrence. Of course, that does not mean it is impossible to knock it down.

However, even if a particular application freezes, you can easily fix it with the special application like iDoctor.

The visual aspect of OS X contains many transitions and special effects, and it is working like a charm even when your computer has the lack of RAM memory. It also comes with a bunch of in-built software, so you will not have to seek for applications in order to work with pictures, text, etc. However, if you want some advanced software packages, you will have to purchase them, just like in Windows.

The transformation
If you are passionate about video games, then Mac may not be the perfect solution for you. Even if you install Windows using Boot Camp, yet you will not be able to add some of the latest graphic cards in CrossFire mode in order to run highly demanding video games.

It is important to mention that OS X, unlike Windows, does not have so much free applications available. Even the smallest and simpler programs may require payment. So, if your finances are limited, then Windows might seem like a cheaper option because there are a lot of free application available out there.

Sincerely, the fact is that both Windows and OS X are pretty reliable operating systems that will not cause you many problems. The transformation is not difficult at all, and both sides have their advantages and disadvantages.
