The best part of the week is finally here, so sit back, relax, and have a bit of fun while the boss is looking the other way. In this week’s game your mind will be put to the test as you work to create as many words as possible in a short time frame. Are you up to the challenge?
Whizz Wordz
The object of the game is to create as many words as possible within a two minute time frame using the group of randomly chosen letters provided.
It is highly recommended to have a quick look through the instructions before playing in order to get a good feel for the scoring and categories used in the game.
Note: Letters chosen from the given set will appear in the line of blank squares at the bottom of the window and limit the options for spelling that you have left.
When you start the game you will have a rather blank looking window like this with a brief message about the time limit in the Word List Section. To get started click on the Green New Letters Button.
The clock will start running the moment your letters appear, so try to think as quickly as you can because those two minutes will go by very quickly! Keep in mind that sometimes you will be given a terrific set of letters to work with and sometimes not, so do the best that you can.
Our lists of created words will not be too impressive here since we were working against the clock while getting these screenshots! During game play you will have scores tally up for different categories based on the words you have created during game play.
As soon as your time is up, you will have to choose a category for scoring. Some categories are easier to score in than others, so you may decide to choose one of the difficult ones with a low score (or no score at all) and use your better categories to earn a greater score later.
We decided to go ahead and choose the 6+ category in order to get it out of the way. Once you have chosen a category it is sealed off for further use for the remainder of the game.
Note: As an example you can still create words with six or more letters for the Count Category, but you can not replace the score for the 6+ category with a higher one later. Once chosen that score is locked in.
