Friday Fun: Get Your Fragging On With Quake Live

One of the more popular FPS games on PC is the Quake series, and now you can play online for free with Quake Live. Today we give you an overview look of how to get it running and what you can expect.

Starting Quake Live

After going to the Quake Live page you’ll need to download and install the Quake Live Plugin.

After it’s installed a series of updates will take place before you can play. It takes several minutes so just hang tight until its complete.

After everything has been downloaded you can start in a live match, go to the training center, or run through some practice sessions.

A practice session with Crash who’s a computer character…she also guides you through the game and tells you how to play.

Game Play

When you go into a live match, it can get pretty chaotic and a lot of fun. It plays like you would expect Quake to run, although sometimes your connection slows down or can completely drop.

The graphics are decent, controls smooth, and the sound is great.

It’s still in Beta but the overall experience was pretty good overall.
